Whether you are a professional, an amateur, or somewhere in between, there is truly something for everyone just minutes from the Inn, your home-away-from-home when visiting the White Mountains & Lakes region of New Hampshire.

Here are just a few of many dozens of adventurous trail options that may be of interest to you. Please remember that you should HikeSafe. The Hiker Responsibility Code was developed by the White Mountain National Forest and NH Fish and Game.

Wellington State Park Located on the shore of Newfound Lake in Bristol, a well-marked hiking trail leads from the park and provides hikers access to Goose Pond, the Sugarloafs, Bear Mountain, Welton Falls and Mt.Cardigan.

 

Welton Falls via Manning Trail This hike runs along and across the Fowler River, which brings you to the impressive Welton Falls shooting through a gorge. The entire route follows the lower portion of the Manning Trail.

 

Walter Newton Natural Area 163 acre nature preserve with a 3 1/2 mile loop to Rainbow Falls waterfall along the Ruth Walter and Glove Hollow Trails. Perfect for families.

West Rattlesnake Mountain This easy hike goes to the summit of West Rattlesnake Mountain and offers fantastic views of Squam Lake and its many islands.


Mount Morgan and Mount Percival Loop This moderate loop hike over Mount Morgan and Mount Percival offers great lake and mountain views from each summit as well as the option to experience ladders and caves.

Franconia Notch State Park This beautiful state park inside the White Mountains National Forest offers a wide variety of hikes, from easy to difficult, and trailheads to many White Mountain trails. The Appalachian Trail also crosses through the park. Some popular destinations include Bald Mountain and Artists Bluff, Lonesome Lake, Kinsman Falls, and Mount Pemigewasset.

 

Stinson Mountain This moderate hike can be either an up-and-back hike to Stinson Mountain or a loop hike when using the standard hiking trail in conjunction with a snowmobile trail. Excellent summit views.


Welch-Dickey Loop This moderate hike is 2 miles to either summit and .5 between them. There are views from both open summits. You can see the Sandwich Notch area to the south and the Tripyramids to the west.


Fletcher's Cascade via Fletcher's Cascade Trail
This moderate hike heads up the Drakes Brook valley to the Fletchers Cascade, a picturesque series of chutes and ledges that begins on the boggy summit of Flat Mountain.
