Colonel Spencer Inn is a historic bed and breakfast located in Campton, New Hampshire, between Plymouth and the White Mountains. Innkeepers Jim Hall and Tracy Hutchins, along with their friendly rescue terrier Cooper, offer guests a warm and personal welcome. Visitors experience the charm of an 18th-century home restored with period accents, and a tradition of hospitality that spans over thirty years, providing a comfortable retreat in all seasons.

One of Campton’s Oldest Homes

Built in 1764, Colonel Spencer Inn is one of the oldest homes in Campton and is named for Colonel Joseph Spencer, an early proprietor who served in the French and Indian Wars and the Revolutionary War. The property’s original wide pine floors, antique fireplaces, and period décor reflect its colonial heritage. The inn offers scenic views of the surrounding pond, gardens, and the Pemigewasset River.

Innkeepers Jim Hall and Tracy Hutchins purchased Colonel Spencer Inn in 2025, bringing a personal touch to every guest’s stay. Jim is a book collector and history enthusiast, while Tracy enjoys discovering new breakfast recipes and kayaking on local waterways. Their rescue terrier, Cooper, greets guests on arrival. Together, they share their local knowledge, making each visit to Colonel Spencer Inn both memorable and welcoming.
